The story, Raven and The Whale, was brought to the attention of Katherine McLeod through the gifted storyteller, Laura Simms. An Inuit tale, Katherine has re-shaped it into a performance piece with drums, movement, chants, and songs.

Without giving too much away, Raven and The Whale is a story of life and death... It is about joyful connection and sorrow filled disconnection. It is about working through all that has a beginning and ending. Such is the way of life.

In many of our modern societies we still have difficulty working through grief. This story and drum performance gently guides the listener to understanding the importance of honouring and working through these most challenging of feelings.
